LPU Cavite’s ‘Grow Urban Gardening’ Triumphs with Green Enthusiasm

Under the guidance of Dr. Fedelyn Estrella, Chairperson of Team BLOOM, LPU Cavite’s “Grow Urban Gardening” event unfolded triumphantly, transforming a simple gathering near Gate 1 into a vibrant celebration of sustainable living.

Opening the event with a nod to tradition, Dr. Maria Teresa O. Pilapil, LPU Earth’s overall chair, remarked, “Just as the song says, ‘Magtanim ay ‘di Biro,’ planting seeds is no easy feat. It’s a commitment to growth and a healthier planet.”

Held on February 8, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., the event seamlessly integrated SDG 3 and SDG 15, embodying the university’s dedication to positive environmental impact. Students and staff actively participated in planting activities, contributing to a community-wide effort to cultivate a greener future.

Dr. Estrella emphasized, “Today is not just about planting; it’s about fostering a sense of responsibility towards our planet. Each seed we sow is a step towards a more sustainable tomorrow.”

The event’s success was evident as participants left with freshly planted greens and a newfound commitment to eco-friendly living. Dr. Fedelyn Estrella’s leadership, along with the enthusiastic involvement of the community, underscored the university’s ongoing journey towards sustainability.

The “Grow Urban Gardening” event stands as a testament to the power of collective action as LPU Cavite continues to cultivate a culture of environmental consciousness, one seed at a time. The green initiative showcased the university’s commitment to fostering positive change within its community, laying the groundwork for a flourishing and sustainable future.
