LPU Cavite Orients College Freshmen and New Students of AY 2021-2022

The Lyceum of the Philippines University Cavite welcomes its college freshmen and new students for the first semester of AY 2021-2022. The Office of the Vice President for Administration, the Office of the Assistant Vice President for Administration, and the heads of the Student Affairs and Services and other support units conducted the two-hour online orientation on August 25, 2021, via FB live.  The event is attended by freshmen and new students from all the colleges, with their parents and guardians as well.

The Orientation started with a Doxology and was followed by the Philippine National Anthem.  The Vice for Administration and the University Registrar, Dr. Ma. Teresa O. Pilapil welcomed the students on behalf of the LPU management. She thanked the students and parents for choosing LPU Cavite and assured them that LPU will “continuously provide the best education in spite of the pandemic.” Dr. Ramon C. Maniago, the Executive Dean for Academic Affairs also welcomed the students and parents and also assured them that the “provision of quality education and services will continue with vigor.”

The online orientation is of two parts. The first part started with an audio-visual presentation (AVP) of the Vision, Mission, Core Values, Quality, and Environmental Policies, followed by the virtual sharing of the facilities of the University.  A presentation of the Student Affairs and Services followed highlighting each department’s services and support to the students and all other stakeholders. These Offices are composed of the Communication and Public Affairs Department (CPD), Student Records Management Department (SRM), Accounting Department, Academic Resource Center (ARC), Health Services Department (HSD), Student Affairs Office (SAO), Guidance and Testing Center (GTC), Athletics Department, and Security Office.  The Office of Global Relations and Strategic Partnership (GRP) composed of the Alumni Affairs, Arts and Culture, Center for International Affairs and Career Services, and Industry Relations presented the highlights of their services via an AVP.

The second part of the orientation started with an AVP of the Community Outreach and Service Learning Department (CSL), Research and Publication Office (RPO), Information and Communications Technology Department (ITD) followed by the Center for Technology-Enabled Education (CEL).  The Orientation was ended with the Closing Remarks of Dr. Mark Irvin C. Celis, the Assistant Vice President for Administration in which he emphasized that by choosing LPU, the students are assured  of “vibrant student life and become excellent, globally competitive and innovative leaders in the future.” He added that here in LPU “we learn differently, we live differently.” We take the lead! Singing of the LPU Hymn concluded the program.
