On August 16, 2024, the Human Resource Department, Office of Data Privacy (ODP), and Accounting Department of LPU Cavite collaboratively held an orientation for newly hired faculty members and academic support personnel. The event began with HR Director Lourdes C. Reyes presenting the recently updated university vision and mission, core values, and educational objectives, which align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education, and Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth. These goals reflect the university’s commitment to providing high-quality education and fostering a fair and inclusive workplace.

CQA and ODP Director Roy E. Ferolino followed with an overview of the university’s data privacy policies, ensuring compliance with R.A. 10173, or the Data Privacy Act of 2012. This emphasis on data protection aligns with SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, by promoting transparency and trust within the academic community.

Ms. Kimberly A. Quintilla from the Accounting Department concluded the session with a detailed explanation of payroll and salary computations, underscoring the university’s dedication to fair compensation practices, in line with SDG 8.

This orientation is a regular event designed not only to integrate new members into the LPU community but also to reinforce the university’s commitment to sustainable and ethical practices in education and employment.
