LPU Cavite Officials Welcome and Recognize the New Fun Run Scholars

The Fun Run Scholarship Program, led by Chair Dr. Ramon C. Maniago and supported by Co-Chairs Dr. Maria Teresa O. Pilapil, VP for Administration, and Dr. Mark Irvin C. Celis, VP for Academic Affairs, along with the council of deans as members, proudly announces the selection of its 2024 scholars: Sheen Lianne Reign Miralles and Juliana Marie Licardo. Out of a competitive pool, eight applicants excelled in the qualifying examination and subsequent interviews. Ms. Miralles and Ms. Licardo distinguished themselves as this year’s chosen scholars. During a ceremony on August 6, the scholars, joined by their parents, officially signed their scholarship contracts, marking a significant milestone in their academic careers.

The Fun Run Scholarship, part of LPU Cavite’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and community engagement, aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in promoting no poverty, quality education, and reducing inequalities. The scholarship program, which is supported through an annual fundraising event, provides financial assistance to deserving students, enabling them to pursue their educational goals without financial strain.

Dr. Maniago emphasized the importance of supporting students who have the potential to make a significant impact in their communities and beyond. “This scholarship is not just an opportunity for personal growth but also a step towards contributing to the sustainable development of our society,” he stated. “We are proud to welcome Sheen and Juliana into our LPU family and are committed to supporting their academic and personal journeys.

By recognizing and supporting these scholars, LPU Cavite reaffirms its dedication to the broader global effort of achieving sustainable development, ensuring that education remains accessible, inclusive, and transformative for all.
