LPU Cavite, in collaboration with the Tourism Industry Board Foundation, Inc. (TBFI) and the Department of Tourism (DOT), successfully hosted the 7th Tourism Human Resource Congress from August 6-7, 2024, at the Bayleaf Cavite. The event, themed “5 IR: Achieving Harmonious Human-Machine Collaboration in Tourism and Hospitality,” brought together leaders and advocates in the tourism industry to discuss emerging trends and challenges while exploring the future of this dynamic sector.
The congress featured a keynote address by the Department of Tourism Secretary, Hon. Christina Garcia Frasco, who emphasized the need to uphold the highest standards of service excellence in the tourism industry while embracing innovation and technology. She highlighted the importance of balancing human expertise with technological advancements to enhance the industry’s growth.
In alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the congress addressed the importance of sustainable tourism practices (SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth) and the integration of innovative solutions to improve the industry’s resilience (SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure). Discussions also focused on fostering inclusive and sustainable partnerships (SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals) to drive the tourism sector forward.
