LPU Cavite and CFO Unite for Filipinos Overseas Community Education Program, Advance SDGs

The LPU Cavite Internationalization and External Affairs, in collaboration with the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO), hosted a symposium at The Forum to address critical issues surrounding migration, human trafficking, and the rights of overseas Filipinos. This event directly supported several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions).

Discussions focused on empowering migrants, combating human trafficking, and enforcing legislation against mail-order marriages. Attendees, including students and faculty, gained valuable insights into the CFO’s proactive initiatives, such as pre-departure seminars and capacity-building programs designed to bolster the well-being of Filipinos globally.

The symposium served as a testament to the global commitment towards protecting and enhancing the lives of overseas Filipinos in the face of growing global challenges.
