The Center for Quality Assurance and Knowledge Management, under the leadership of Director Roy Ferolino, recently conducted a comprehensive employee orientation on the ISO 21001 standard, also known as the Educational Organizations Management System. The event took place on June 22, 2023, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, and was specifically designed for the Document Custodians representing various units of the University.

During the orientation, the attendees were given a detailed overview of the ISO 21001 standard. They were enlightened on its key components, including the establishment of a quality policy, clear objectives, and defined processes. Emphasis was placed on the significance of student-centered education, continuous improvement, and effective communication within educational institutions.

A major focus of the orientation was the proper preparation and handling of documented information, as it plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of an educational organization. Document Custodians were trained on best practices for document control, including version control, access management, and record keeping. These skills are crucial for maintaining compliance with ISO 21001 and providing a streamlined environment for all stakeholders.

Director Roy Ferolino, a renowned expert in quality management and data privacy, led the orientation session. His profound knowledge and experience in the field provided invaluable insights to the attendees. Director Ferolino encouraged active participation and fostered an open environment for questions and discussions, allowing the Document Custodians to gain a deeper understanding of ISO 21001 and its practical applications.

Feedback from the participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing gratitude for the opportunity to expand their knowledge and skills in educational management systems. The employee orientation not only equipped the Document Custodians with the necessary tools to fulfill their roles effectively but also motivated them to actively contribute to the University’s continuous improvement initiatives.

The successful employee orientation has undoubtedly fortified the University’s commitment to excellence in education. By embracing this internationally recognized standard, the University aims to provide a superior educational experience for its students and strengthen its position as a leading institution in the field.
