Sharing His Legacy: A Student Art Competition

Arts Competition 2

General Guidelines

  • In celebration of SHL Day, there will be an art Contest as part of the program.
  • The competition is open to all currently enrolled students of LPU-Cavite.

Contest Instruction

1. Participants are allowed to submit any style of visual art that includes, but not limited to:

    • Illustrations
    • Paintings
    • Photographs
    • Collages
    • Digital Art

2. Participants may only submit one (1) art piece through email to their respective colleges by Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at 5:00 pm the latest.

3. Each college will choose their Top 3 winners and forward these works to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by Friday, September 25, 2020 no later the 12:00 noon.

4. Judging will begin promptly and Top 3 winners will be announced on the LPU Facebook page on Wednesday, September 30, 2020.

5. First and Second runner up will receive P500 cash prize and 1 LPU Merchandise. The 3rd and 4th Runner Up will receive 1 LPU Merchandise. 

6. Grand winner will receive the grand prize of HUION INSPIROY Pen tablet.

7. All 3 winners will be asked to send their works to have it displayed in ARC for the rest of the year.

 

Mechanics

1. Participants must read the following quotation about Sotero H. Laurel and create an art piece inspired by it.

2. All artwork must be newly created.

3. Participants may only submit one (1) art piece through email by Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at 5:00 pm the latest.

4. There will be a shortlist of three (3) artworks to be chosen by each college and sent to the GRaSP email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by Friday, September 25, 2020 no later the 12:00 noon.

5. Judging of photographs will begin and Top 3 winners will be announced on the LPU Facebook page on Wednesday, September 30, 2020.

6. Criteria for judging shall be:

  • Creativity - 50%
  • Technique and Composition - 30%
  • Relevance to the theme - 20%

7. The entries shall be judged by a Board of Judges, assigned by organizers.

8. The decision of the Board of Judges shall be final and unappeasable. Any administrative technical problems that may arise during the contest shall be resolved by the organizers, whose decision, shall be final and unappeasable.

9. The prizes, shall be:

 

First Prize                    :           Huion Inspiroy H640P Pen Tablet

1st Runner Up              :           P500 cash prize and 1 LPU merchandise

2nd Runner Up             :           P500 cash prize and 1 LPU merchandise

3rd  and 4th Runner Up :           1 LPU merchandise
