First Batch of Chinese Scholars Attend LPU Graduate School

On January 20, 2020, the LPU Cavite Community warmly welcomed the first batch of scholars from Jiangsu province in mainland China to its Graduate School programs in a short but meaningful program at the Le Café. The event was attended by LPU top administrators, deans, registrar officials and the 11 Chinese students and their advisers.

Dr. Ramon Maniago, Executive Dean, expressed the hope that the students will feel at home in their new environment as they face new academic challenges in the Philippines. Ms. Maria Teresa O. Pilapil, VP for Administration, assured the students of the commitment of the university to help them fulfill their dream of obtaining their doctorates. She also asked the Chinese students to reciprocate by making the most out of the opportunities provided them in their special academic offering, in spite of the obvious sacrifices they have to go through.

The Chinese contingent also expressed their sentiments through an impassioned response from one of their advisers and a hopeful note from one of the students. The Chinese coordinator of this program is Mr Sun Jianguang, the Dean of Foreign Language of the Huaiyin Institute of Technology.

The academic program for this first batch of Chinese professionals kicked off with a week-long English language review and intensive training conducted by Ms. Angelita Fruelda, CAS professor and head of the Strategic Communications Office (SCO).
