LPU Cavite attends PIFUA's 3rd International Conference and Training

The Philippine International Friendship and Understanding Association Inc. (PIFUA) again gathered the international students, student leaders and advisers, including Lyceum of the Philippines University Cavite for the A in Baguio City from October 17 to 19, 2019 with the theme “Multicultural Research for Positive and Enduring Social Change.”

The two-day conference provided opportunities for meaningful and expressive interactions between and among international students, student leaders, and advisers. The keynote speaker, Mr. Luke Wong, founding president of Asia Pacific Student Services Association (APSSA), articulated the social changes that international students can adapt wherever they are. The conference featured three couch sessions. The first focused on the international students, their common and unique concerns as they complete their studies in their respective universities. The second couch session gave the advisers opportunity to talk about the strategies and development programs they are practicing in their respective universities to help international students have a meaningful and productive academic experience. For the last session, participants talked about the role of international student organizations in helping international students adjust and assimilate into the school environment and culture. The conference ended with a night of cultural presentations and happy interactions between participants, who all came in their national costume. This years’ conference was participated by almost fifteen universities, more than twenty five international students and almost twenty advisers. LPU Cavite was represented by staff from the International Affairs Office, Ms. Genaiza Ann Bautista and Ms. Kristin Zen Cuevas, and Student of United Nations (SUN) officers, Mr. Franklin Opia (German), and Ms. Sean Yee Hung (Chinese) - G. A. Bautista
