LPU Cavite participates in the First Philippine Tourism Education Conference
Mactan, Cebu – Language stakeholders in the country gather for the First Philippine Tourism Education Conference held in Mactan, Cebu last July 30-31, 2019. The conference, hosted by the Department of Tourism (DOT), opened with colorful, vibrant, and highly-charged cultural presentations from various award-winning performing groups in Cebu. Guided with the aim of positioning the Philippines as an English as a Second Language (ESL) study destination, the conference featured speakers from source markets such as Thailand, Indonesia, Russia, Spain, and Italy where they talked about their respective market demographics and requirements, recruitment strategies and platforms to effectively promote Philippine ESL.
For Lyceum of the Philippines University Cavite, the conference was an opportunity to learn about and explore other source markets. Since it began offering ESL program in 2015, the University has hosted ESL students from Korea and Japan. With DOT’s accreditation and support, the University aspires to become a school of choice of source markets like Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, and the European market. – M. M. Abayan
