12 September 2018 - The Lyceum of the Philippines University Cavite welcomed delegates from the National University of Laos (NUOL) and Champassak University. Atty. Uella Vida Mancenido-Gayo and Atty. Janice Kristine Ramos from the College of Law along with Mr. Clarence G. Manicad, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Mark Irvin Celis, Dean of the College of International Tourism and Hospitality Management, and Mr. Regil John Vergara of the International Affairs represented LPU and led the discussion on the possibility of having a faculty exchange program between LPU’s College of Law faculty members and the two universities.
During the visit, the group observed classes to give them a glimpse on how OBE-lectures were facilitated in LPU classrooms. The delegates left with a positive impression that they suggested to conduct a Student Exchange Program with the University as well. The NUOL lead delegate also extended an invitation for LPU officials to visit their campus.
Meanwhile, Atty. Gayo articulated the college’s desire to have linkages with their faculty and LPU’s. She added, “this will not only benefit the College of Law, but the school in general as well. We will be able to receive the opportunity to teach their students here, and at the same time, we will be also sending our students to Laos. Both universities are focused in doing research. With the help of our exchange programs, our faculty can present their papers to the NUOL in hopes of a review”. - F. Simpelo
