The Guidance and Testing Center (GTC), in cooperation with the College of Allied Medical Sciences (CAMS), College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), College of Business Administration (CBA), College of Fine arts and Design (CFAD), College of International Hospitality Management (CITHM), College of Engineering, Computer Studies, and Architecture (CoECSA), and College of Nursing (CON), conducted a mental health seminar last October 3, 2019 at the University Auditorium with the theme “Healthy Minds, Productive Life: Promoting Mental Health Wellness Among Lyceans”. The activity aimed to provide information and awareness about different mental health issues and concerns, to ensure that mental health is valued and promoted among students, and to acquire self-knowledge and interpersonal skills. Ms. Vina Velasco (Faculty and NSTP Chairperson of CAS), Engr. Arnel Avelino (College Secretary of CoECSA), Ms. Melita Soriano (Academic Coordinator of CBA) and Dr. Josie Toledo (CITHM faculty and OIC for Research) gave support to the event as they inspire students during the welcoming and opening remarks. The resource speaker, Mr. Wilchard S. Lanario, RN, MSN, knowledgeably shared about “Understanding Suicide and Depression” and accommodated questions of the students during the open forum.
Students were listening attentively as the speaker, Mr. Wilchard S. Lanario, RN, MSN made mention of the World Suicide Prevention Day.
The GTC Personnel, together with Dr. Josielyn Toledo, OIC for Research/ CITHM faculty, as Mr. Wilchard S. Lanario, RN, MSN received the Certificate of Appreciation.
