Lyceum of the Philippines University Cavite - College of Law Students competed at the prestigious Nuremberg Moot Court 2019, an international moot court competition hosted by the Nuremberg Academy in cooperation with the Friedrich - Alexander - University of Erlangen-Nurnberg. The said competition aims to gather students from across the globe to argue a fictitious case before the “International Criminal Court” held in Nuremberg, Germany last 25-27 July 2019.
The Moot Court Team composed of Team Coach, Atty. Uella Vida Vallido Mancenido-Gayo and law students, Deebee Bombeza, Monique Allyanna Fame, Princess Joy Quinto, and Shally Mae Villa, has qualified for the Top 100 out of 174 law school applicants from around the world to compete in the Memorial Rounds. Out of 100 schools, they qualified for the Top 50 to compete in the Oral Rounds in Nuremberg.
After two days of competition rounds, with almost 250 law students from 50 universities from all over the world, the team landed in the 17th spot in the preliminary rounds. Only 16 teams made it to the next round.
“These four girls, even if they no longer qualified for the Top 16 after two crazy days of competition rounds, received the highest grade of 90 in their Memorials. The highest among the first 100 schools. The highest even from among those who will emerge as winners in the Oral Rounds”, said Atty. Gayo.
