The BS Information Technology, BS Computer Engineering, and BS Computer Science students have participated in the 9th IT Skills Olympics with a theme, “A Reboot of the Society: 4IR in a World of Possibilities”, last September 9, 2019, at the University of Makati. Forty-eight (48) reputable universities and colleges in the country joined the event. The competition categories are Programming in Java, C#, and C++, Web Design, Computer Networking, PC Assembly/ Disassembly, Digital Electronics, Android App Development, and IT Quiz Bee. The main objective of the said competition is to encourage camaraderie among academic institutions and to showcase the knowledge and skills of the students.
Mr. Azman A. Barraquias and Mr. Lumiely L. Sagenes, 4th-year students under the BS Information Technology program with their coach Mr. Joven B. Cajigas won First Place in the Android App Development category. The Android Application entry is the “Turo Agham”, a science e-learning mobile application for kindergarten pupils. The main feature of the said app is the implementation of the augmented reality, which is one of the emerging technologies in the 4th Industrial Revolution.
