Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, it is now that we need the arts most as a society to unite us, provide comfort, inspire creativity and ease stress in these challenging times. There are numerous ways we can ensure the arts remain a part of our lives despite the need for social distancing.
LPU Cavite’s ARTCAD will continue to provide and share all the latest updates on online experiences, virtual exhibits, live streamed concerts and theatre performances. We’ve rounded up a handful of events happening this October.
One World: Together At Home
Lady Gaga together with Global Citizen invented the quarantine festival, One World: Together At Home. As we head into what would have been music festival season, we can expect to see more efforts to produce live music entertainment for the masses at home. For now, the efforts are more reduced, but no less heart-warming.

The Korean Cultural Center (KCC) in the Philippines has put together its most sought-after annual spectacle for the Korean cineastes. With the theme “The Celebrity Spotlight”, the Korean Film Festival brings online some of the biggest stars of Korea such as Hyun Bin, Park Seo Jun to name a few. This is the first-ever online Korean Film Festival and is FREE for everyone. The streaming will run from September 12 to October 2.
The drive-in cinema now seems to be the best way to ensure everyone’s safety with physical distancing and still keeping audiences entertained. The first ever Drive-in cinema in the country is set to offer a selection of local and international movies in Circuit Makati and Nuvali in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Tickets will be sold online. For schedule and updates, follow Drive-in Manila on Facebook and Instagram.
Likewise, SM Mall of Asia has launched its own drive-in cinema, “Movies by the Bay” beginning September 9 with tickets at just P400 per head. It will be accessible every week from Wednesday to Sunday at the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds Block 16. The drive-in cinema will still follow strict guidelines so only those aged 21-59 will be allowed entry with a valid ID.
