PPhA-Cavite Chapter grants books to LPU-C Pharmacy Student

Aiming to provide financial assistance, the Philippine Pharmacists Association- Cavite Chapter granted one qualified Pharmacy Student of Lyceum of the Philippines University-Cavite with pharmacy books worth Php 5,000.00 given on the 31st of August 2016.

As part of the Professional Association- Academe Linkage Program of LPU-C College of Allied Medical Sciences (CAMS) and PPhA- Cavite Chapter, a pharmacy student from the university has been chosen to be the recipient of the Pharmacy Book Grant Program initiated by the PPhA to continuously enhance professional competence and to support the Pharmacy education.

“We know for a fact that prices of College books can be extremely burdensome to students. That is why we would like to sponsor one Pharmacy student officially enrolled in your University,” said Ms. Emily V. Carpio, the PPhA-Cavite Chapter President.

Through this program, financial assistance for the books will be provided to the chosen student which will surely serve as a great help to lessen the expenses. This might also encourage the student to pursue pharmacy education and achieve success in the degree course.

The program includes Php 5,000.00 worth of textbooks, laboratory manuals and workbooks for general education subjects, core subjects and professional pharmacy subjects in a particular semester. The grant is subject for renewal and periodic review by the PPHA-Cavite Chapter.

Upon meeting all the requirements, Kate Emerald Ramos, a third year Pharmacy student, was selected to be the first recipient of the Pharmacy Book Grant of PPhA. She qualified for the program for having no failing grades from the previous semester and having maintained satisfactory academic progress with a GPA of 2.5 and above. Incidentally, Ms. Ramos’ mother and aunt are also practicing pharmacists.

Pilapil; Associate Dean Dr. Romina R. Barcarse and Pharmacy Coordinator Ms. Maria Teresa T. Basilides.
