With the hope of inspiring and orienting future media practitioners on the current trends and practices in the media industry, the Communication and Multimedia Arts Department of the College of Arts and Sciences held its annual media conference last September 1, 2015 at the University Audio Visual Theater with the theme “News Reporting in the Digital: Trends and Challenges”.
Communication students from all year levels with their instructors gathered and listened to the talks delivered by the two invited speakers who shared their expertise and experience in industry. Present in the seminar were Mr. Julius Segovia of GMA 7 and Mr. Mon Gualvez of TV 5.
The two speakers shared their experiences when they were still beginners in the industry. They also oriented the participants about the practices they observed and followed in their respective mother networks. Their talks were followed by a very interactive question and answer portion.
Also present in the program was Mr. Marylyn Alparo, the Associate Dean of the CAS, and Mr. Reginald Gonzales, the Academic Coordinator of the Communication and Multimedia Arts Department.
