CITHM Students Goes to Ubaya through an Online Summer Program

In an era where borders are blurred and countries are closer than ever through technology, Lyceum of the Philippines University Cavite continues its initiatives to establish and nurture its links with other international institutions in order to give opportunities to the students and faculty members to be more exposed in the global arena. The CITHM attended the Ubaya Online Summer Program last July 5-9, 2021. It was organized by Universitas Surabaya, Indonesia. The college was represented by Ms. Wilmalyn Joy Baldomero, Ms. Ma. Patricia Flores, and Ms. Alyssa Vanne Janelle Ponciano, BS in International Travel and Tourism Management students.  

The program was designed to understand creative industries better. It also allowed students to learn about the Bahasa Indonesian Language through the “Everyday Indonesian Language Class.” The first session was the orientation and Ubaya virtual campus tour. The second session, on the other hand, was a webinar entitled “Wonderful Indonesia and Persona Surabaya.” For the third session, Creative Industries specifically packaging structure was discussed.

On July 7, Indonesian class and Javanese calligraphy were discussed for the fourth and fifth sessions respectively. A webinar on the Indonesian Economy dealing with the pandemic was shared in the sixth session. For the seventh session, surface pattern making was the topic of discussion. On the last day of the program, a webinar on “The Past and Present of COVID-19 Pandemic in Indonesia” was held. It was a jampacked training and learning session for the attendees.

The college is committed to providing international programs like these for students not only to be competitive but be aware of the different cultures and situations of other countries.
