Psychology Professor Publishes New Research in Sports Psychology
Maridette Joyce D. Maranan, a psychology professor of the College of Arts and Sciences, recently conducted a study entitled “Exploring the Link between Athletic Identity, Self-compassion, Communication, and Mental Toughness of Table Tennis Student-Athletes”. The said research was published in the International Journal of Racket Sports Science (vol. 3, no. 1, 2021), a peer-reviewed journal focused on providing the most complete and reliable source of information on current developments in the field of racket sports. The journal is indexed by Google Scholar, among others, and is managed and published by Universidad de Granada, Universidad de Jaén. The said article was co-authored with Dr. Arnulfo Lopez of the University of Santo Tomas who is also her dissertation adviser.
Aside from her teaching post at the Lyceum of the Philippines University, Cavite, Ms. Maranan is currently a candidate for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology at the University of Santo Tomas Graduate School.
