Elthea D. Villaluz

This year’s virtual GenTHINK competition was held last November 26, 2022. This is an annual event organized by the City Division of General Trias Association of Private Schools (CDGTAPS) in order to challenge private high school students in their knowledge and skills in the subjects Filipino, English, Science, Mathematics, and History. The activity was conducted via Zoom following the format observed during the previous year’s competition.

Ahead of the competition, the selected students were given study materials and were trained by their respective trainers for each subject. For Junior High School, Ms. Carmi Arellano led the training for Filipino, Ms. Anna Sophia Longaza for English, Ms. Hillarie Ronato and Ms. Ana Liezl Liveta for Mathematics, and Mr. Janus Aventurado for Science. For Senior High School, the trainers were Ms. Lalaine Cazar for English and Filipino, Ms. Krystel Marable for Filipino, Mr. Loyd Asunan and Ms. Josefina De Castro for Mathematics, and Mr. Glen Lino Guanezo for Science.

At 8:00 in the morning, the competition started and the results were released in the afternoon. The thrill of waiting for the results was absolutely an experience—mixed emotions were stirring up. All IS student representatives represented LPU Cavite with pride and with their clever minds. Some of them even joined multiple categories.

Overall, the International School brought home 26 awards, covering several categories. The following are winners of the GenTHINK 2023 from LPU Cavite IS:
