International School Hosts Extemporaneous Competition for the University’s Vision Mission Week

In celebration of the Lyceum of the Philippines University Cavite’s Mission Vision Week, the International School hosted an Extemporaneous Competition on October 3, 2023, at the Lemongrass Hall.
The event aims to promote insightful reflection on the LPU Cavite core value of Love of God and to provide an opportunity for students to showcase their communication skills and their awareness and practice of the core values of LPU Cavite.
Each of the colleges of LPU Cavite was asked to have one student representative showcase their communication skills and represent their respective colleges.
Student representatives from the College of Liberal Arts and Education, College of Allied Medical Sciences, College of Nursing, College of Business Administration, College of Engineering, Computer Studies and Architecture, and College of Fine Arts and Design were given five minutes to prepare their speeches on the question, how can our love of God help us embrace the LPU Cavite F.U.T.U.R.E?
The competition started with an invocation led by Ms. Maria Theresa Borita. This was followed by a discussion of the mechanics and the introduction of the judges. The board of judges was composed of Ms. Mia Aiko O. Pilapil, Manager of the Internalization and External Affairs Office, Mr. Lizandro O. Ferrer, Director of Center for Student and Alumni Relations, and Ms. Sherelyn Sarmiento, Head of the Guidance and Testing Center.
The First Place was Ms. Sabrina Raigne F. Mariano, from the College of International Tourism and Hospitality Management. The Second Place was Mr. Emmanuel Protacio, from the College of Business Administration. The Third Place was Ms. Margeaux Clerisse B. Ilagan from the International School.
The winners were awarded with certificates of recognition and prizes. The competition, aligned with SDG 4 Quality Education, not only promoted the university’s vision and mission but also served as a dynamic learning platform that provided students with a valuable opportunity to develop their speaking skills.
