International School Conducts an In-Person Orientation for New Junior High School Students and Parents

The orientation program for the new Junior High students and parents was held on August 14, 2023, at 1:00 in the afternoon. The audio-visual presentations of the Academic Resource Center, the Guidance and Testing Center, and the Health Services Department were played before the program began. The program proper started with the invocation led by Ms. Ceres S. Dimapilis, JHS faculty member. This was followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem.
Mr. Mhar Angelo A. Bayot, the headmaster of the International School, welcomed the new students and parents to the school and gave an overview of the school’s history, programs and activities. Ms. Raquel R. Bernardo, the head of the cashier’s office, discussed the school’s financial policies, procedures and scholarships. Mr. Bayot then gave a talk on the academic guidelines for the new students. It was followed by an intermission number performed by Ms. Caryn Bianca V. Creencia from Grade 10-Narra.
The second part of the orientation was about parent portal registration, followed by the services offered by the Guidance and Testing Center, which were discussed by Ms. Analyn P. Lontoc, the guidance associate for high school.
A short icebreaker was then conducted by student volunteers. This was followed by an introduction to the student organizations.
The third and final part of the orientation was about the general directives for the new students. Mr. Bayot gave a few reminders about the school rules and regulations. Then he instructed the Grade 7 students and parents to remain in the auditorium for the preliminary orientation on the ESC. The program ended with the singing of the LPU Hymn.
