Grade 12 Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) Students of Lyceum of the Philippines University Cavite International School (LPUIS) held an outreach program, themed “Hands Together, Hearts United: A Community Outreach Program,” for Grade 4 to 6 students of General Gregorio S. Aloña Sr. Memorial Elementary School (GAMES), last December 13.

Firstly, an anti-bullying seminar centered on explaining how bullying works and its effects to its victims was conducted at GAMES’ Multi-Purpose Hall. Student representatives from the HUMSS strand facilitated the discussion on the different terminologies related to bullying. The seminar also focused on the solutions that students can do to help resolve and combat this issue.

Afterwards, students were invited to participate in mini games to win loot bags.

Following this, a feeding program, book reading, and gift-giving session was held at the respective rooms of each section. The story telling session was facilitated by representatives from the Editorial Board of The Young Leaf.

Students were guided by Lalaine Cazar, Senior High School Coordinator; Krishna Arabella King, Asst. Senior High School Coordinator; and LPUIS faculty members, Atty. Raiah Nadine Rentar, Marc Christian Castillo, Louie Angelo Guarte, Paul Andrei Bautista, and Janies Delos Santos.

The outreach program was done in collaboration with the Social Science Circle, Model United Nations, and The Young Leaf; student organizations from LPUIS. This initiative directly aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, which promotes peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development and SDG 4: Quality Education, which emphasizes the importance of safe and inclusive learning environment for all.
