On February 15, 2012, LPU Cavite’s Community Outreach and Service Learning Office (COSeL) spearheaded the Meat-Processing Training of select representatives of the Samahan ng Kababaihan ng Manggahan, at the Culinary Laboratory 2 of the College of International Tourism and Hospitality Management. Chef Angelito Lunasin, Jr., LPU’s Executive Chef, Consultant (Hotel and Restaurant), Chef Instructor and Operation manager, shared his knowledge with the participants. He taught processing skills for the production of tocino, longganisa and tapa to the ladies.

The activity marks the first stage in a new livelihood partnership between LPU Cavite and Baranggay Manggahan, through the women’s association headed by Kagawad Lilia Candare. The training was made possible through coordination with the OIC Dean of CITHM, Sir Ivan Bartolata.
