The Lyceum of the Philippines University – Cavite joined in the celebration of Prison Awareness Month (October) by conducting a donation campaign for the welfare of the Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) in the local jails in the city. In coordination with our partner NGO, Lingkod Lazaro, the donations will be distributed among the PDLs who are most in need of assistance. The annual celebration aims at making people aware of the plight of incarcerated peoples and thus eliciting a response of compassion towards their restoration as reformed, renewed and productive members of the community. LPU has been active in programs for the welfare of the inmates of the local prisons for over a year already and is committed to journeying with them in the future.
