LPU Cavite Inspires Young Minds at Bukid Kabataan Center through a Community Outreach Program

On March 23, 2024, an insightful seminar titled  “Thriving in the Journey: Navigating Challenges and Embracing Opportunities” took place at the Bukid Kabataan Center, facilitated by the Guidance and Testing Center in coordination with Community Outreach and Service Learning.

The event was a participated by Ms. Sherelyn Sarmiento, Head of Guidance and Testing Center, Dr. Catherine Cababa, Head of Community Outreach and Service Learning, staffs and peer facilitators of GTC.  The event aimed to inspire and equip young individuals with the necessary tools to overcome obstacles and seize opportunities in their journeys.

Through engaging discussions and interactive workshop led by the resource speaker, Mr. Arniel Belanizo, participants had the opportunity to learn strategies for overcoming difficulties and practical techniques to cultivate a positive outlook, enabling them to recognize opportunities amidst challenges. He gave emphasis on the importance of enhancing their weaknesses and leveraging their strengths to foster resilience by prioritizing self-care across various aspects including physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being.

He also encouraged them to take action and apply the knowledge they would gain on their journey, to never lose hope and be an inspiration to others.

The impact of the topic discussed was profound on the youth who participated in the event. Many expressed newfound confidence in their abilities to overcome obstacles as well as heightened sense of motivation to pursue their dreams despite setbacks. Participants were inspired to adopt a proactive approach to challenges, viewing them as stepping stones towards personal growth and development.

Overall, the seminar proved to be a transformative experience for all attendees, instilling a sense of empowerment and resilience in the face of adversity. The lessons learned from the session will undoubtedly continue to guide and inspire the youth as they navigate the complexities of life with strength and determination. Armed with newfound knowledge, and positive support network, the youth emerged with a renewed sense of purpose and a commitment to embracing all the opportunities that lay ahead.

It underscored the University’s commitment to social responsibility and community engagement. The GTC, along with COSEL, expressed their gratitude to all participants and volunteers who made the event a memorable and impactful experience.
